Which Questions Should You Ask Your Hair Vendor?

We get asked a lot about which questions you should ask a vendor.

The answer is actually quite simple: Anything which will help you to make a choice whether you will sample the vendor.

So for example, if price is an important factor for you, you will ask about the price of the hair, and ask whether they charge any additional fees, like PayPal, handing fee, Alibaba platform fee, or possibly high shipping.

If you’re looking for hair which colors well, you could ask questions like which color it can be bleached to.

Generally, hair that goes to very light colors will be more ideal for you.

However, make sure that your knowledge of hair is good.

If you ask about affordable hair which can be bleached to 613 and still be great quality, it’s almost a contradiction in terms, as the more affordable hair is pretty much always processed, causing shedding when bleaching it light.

Even labels like virgin, and remy are so randomly used, that it has become difficult to use these words to describe hair.

We have clients who think of virgin as the absolute best quality of hair, and others who are simply looking for ‘virgin’, a lower quality than raw hair.

So really look for specific things, make a list, and see how well different vendors score according to your requirements.

Testing will simply be verifying whether these claims were true, so that gives a clear goal for your testing as well.

So make it sure that you know exactly what you are looking for, and ask these questions.

If you don’t know what you are looking for, go back to doing research, otherwise you’ll mostly end up spending a lot of your time and money, and learning an expensive lesson.

There’s no shame in admitting that you don’t know enough, it’s actually quite great, as it’s the beginning of growth.

Some questions are a bit tricky, I.E. Questions like: "Which country is the hair sourced in?" are common, and your salesperson will probably have an answer which they believe to be true, however they’re not high enough in the chain to know the real answer.

Basically hair is an will be sourced from wherever it’s available, this includes any country.

We all know that Peruvian hair and Brazilian are silly marketing labels, but there are still people who claim to know the exact difference between these two types of hair.

In any case, if you have any doubt about some of the questions you want to ask your vendors, feel free to leave them in the comments, and I’ll let you know my feedback.
